Give a Beresford 7520 a try. They have a 30 day trial period right now, so you don't have any risks. The little guy is only $249 shipped and I prefer it to many pricier DACs out there (including a Benchmark, of all things). If it does not make a difference in your system, simply send it back. At that point you would know that a different DAC is probably not the way to go and you can focus on a more resolving pair of speakers instead.
