Interesting - do you have any examples of Linn files you feel are not as good as they should be? All the ones I have (not a massive collection) sound amazing to me - and they aren't in any way over-compressed or clipped. Some of them are categorically in the "true reference recording" league. the Dunedin Consort Messiah for example... the 24/96 Barb Jungr, Claire Martin or Carol Kidd all sound amazing to me too. -- Phil Leigh You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it ain't what you'd call minimal...
