The best way is to use dBPoweramp and its HDCD plugin. You don't need to do anything else. It will create a proper 24-bit file with the lowest 4 bits set to "silence" (which is just as well since even in a proper 24-bit recording they are mostly full of noise!) -- Phil Leigh You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it ain't what you'd call minimal...
