I want to thank two people for significant contributions in this thread: 1) Klaus for his Touch Toolbox 2.0 mods. I do use them, and I consider that they made an appreciable difference in my listening pleasure via the analog outputs of my Touch. Small differences can be appreciable in this particular hobby. The only mod I don't use is the shortened alsa buffer length, although I have tried it once or twice, I didn't hear a positive difference.
2) Phil Leigh's measurements. I think you found and applied a smart methodology to detect differences, made your measurements very carefully and explained your findings patiently. I see a great deal of value in what you did, and learned from it myself. The volume of posts and the tone of some of them shows that 1) People are very passionate about audio quality and 2) Some people lack the emotional maturity to engage in this kind of dialog without discrediting themselves. This does make the thread a bit of a pain to sift through, even for those of us who do very much like to think for ourselves. -- dsdreamer ---------------------- "Dreamer, easy in the chair that really fits you..." ------------------------------------------------------------------------ dsdreamer's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12588 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84742 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
