It's important to attack the issue at both ends. Quality at the front end, and quality at the end.
Take ANY system of carefully selected components, and put them in a bad acoustic environment. See what happens. Room acoustics will make or break ANY system in my experience, and you've all heard it....with the speakers that sounded amazing at the dealers....and then sounded like trash at home.
