Your reply brings up looking into more options. First, I Like the Vortexbox idea. I don't know where you get them or how expensive they are yet. I was just going to use a NAS for storing music, short videos, and photos, and use my Macbook to run software like Amarra. I looked into music servers, but the good ones are more money than I want to spend right now (5K+). The advantage they do have is that I think they can play the higher resolution formats in all their glory ( I hope). I would like to future proof my setup as much as possible but realistically anything I do would be obsolete within 3 years. The Squeezbox looks like a stop-gap toward my ultimate goal. Even so, after buying an Ipad, NAS or Vortexbox, Squeezbox, software, I'll still be making an investment that will be compromise for now... Is Slim Devices going to come out with a Touch that will pass higher resolutions? A Touch More...
