You are seeing the "Replay Gain" data that has been encoded into the tracks. This info can be used to make albums and/or tracks all about the same loudness, thus avoiding the problem of having to turn up the volume for one album, and then turn it down for another to achieve the desired listening level. Not to be confused with compression, or the like.
Here's a Wiki link that explains it in greater detail: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Replay_Gain It hurts nothing, but if you don't want Replay Gain, then simply turn it off in your SB server settings. It's good exercise to constantly get up to fiddle with volume when playing multiple albums or tracks. :) -- Curt962 Transporter...Touch....Boom...... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Curt962's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=31949 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87524 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
