I've recently purchased this linear PSU: http://cgi.ebay.ca/MASTECH-HY1803D-DC-POWER-SUPPLY-VAR-0-18-VOLTS-0-3-/360241404257?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53e00f9961#ht_2602wt_907
It didn't come with the output cable, so I had to shop around and find a suitable pair of banana plugs and a suitable jack for my DAC. After soldering it, it turned out that it only degraded the sound of my DAC. So now I'm left with a spare PSU, and am wondering whether it would be worth using it for my Touch? Of course, the jack I've fitted for my DAC does not fit into the Touch (standards; the nice thing about standards is that we have so many to choose from), so I cannot give it a try. My question is: would it be worth the trouble for me to go out and try to find the suitable plug for the Touch? Do you guys think it will improve the sound of the Touch? Or is it just an old wives' tale? The reason I'm asking is that it obviously not only didn't improve my DAC, it actually significantly degraded it. Something must be up with this linear PSU, if it can make the sound leaner than before. -- magiccarpetride ------------------------------------------------------------------------ magiccarpetride's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37863 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87755 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
