I know people love to hate SMPS. I think the truth is, they are not all that bad. A good linear supply has to be properly designed to best a decent (and cheap) SMPS.
I would try going to battery from SMPS to see if that makes a difference for the better. I would be curious to hear if anyone has experimented with battery and the Touch. I use battery with my t-amp. It seems to sound "cleaner" than the SMPS, but not huge. It also appears that the battery handles transients a bit better. Overall less "effort" to the sound. Not huge by any stretch. If I had to live with the SMPS it would certainly be ok. -- earwaxer9 System: modified Winsome Labs Mouse, modified Maggie MMG's, Transporter, HSU sub 12, MSB DAC to 500 watt sub slave amp, JPS labs power cords, Silver audio interconnect, Audioquest Granite speaker cable. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ earwaxer9's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=39527 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87755 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
