I agreed because what I think Mnyb was trying to say that in spite of these miracle working megabuck DACs the high end audio press continues to write about how much of difference transports make, even though the DACs are supposed to fix the problems presented by the transports. Neat little circle they have created: transport or type of connection (as in USB) has issues which are then addressed by ever more expensive DACs. So CD transports produced jitter problems which the fancy DACs solved but now there are problems with jitter produced by using USB which a new set of fancy (and expensive) DACs will solve, provide of course that one is using a very expensive audiophile grade USB cable. -- ralphpnj Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels -> Snatch -> The Transporter -> Transporter 2 (oops) -> Touch 'Last.fm' (http://www.last.fm/user/jazzfann/) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ralphpnj's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10827 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91692 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
