What I would like to know is what you makes think that things have to
make sense in order for audiophiles to believe them?

All that is required for most audiophiles to believe something
(anything?) is for some golden eared guru of the high end press declare
that such and such (insert latest audiophile fad here) makes a night and
day improvement (this is a requirement) to the sound of their system
(veils lifted, windowed opened, shoes shined, warts removed - see Tom
Waits' "Step Right Up" for full list of all improvements). That's it, no
measurements needed since any measurements which do not agree with the
declaration will be disregarded, so why even bother with them in the
first place. No objective testing needed, again any tests which do not
agree with the declaration will be disregarded or discredited, so why
even bother with them in the first place.
