I too must confess to having been on "the other side" for a while along due to my engineering background I was never in danger going totally off the deep end. I always tried to keep all the components in my audio system at about the same level, in other words with $3,500 Vandersteen speakers there is no reason to have a $15,000 SACD player nor a $20,000 turntable. And that is also one of the reasons I jumped off the upgrade treadmill - everything I now own is within the same "class" and upgrading any one piece to a "higher" class would mean upgrading almost everything to that same higher class. So no $5,000 DAC for me since my trusty $2,000 Transporter is in the exact same class as the rest of my system. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ralphpnj's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10827 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98249 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
