Yes, I do know that and all doctors should know that too or they are committing fraud.
The charge was actually secondary to my main point which was that with this new licence proposal, one would have to find a DAME (who has to charge the $80+ to cover all their paperwork for CASA) when one could more easily see one's own family doctor for the same service (every two/four years, depending on your age) without the paperwork (as we do now in my Club with Instructors). I have a PPL and have to do that anyway. However, one DAME on this list disputes the competence of some family doctors. For the record, I charge up to $48.50 (AMA standard consult charge) plus GST for a straight forward 15 minute medical history, examination and a certificate. A lesser fee if it takes a lesser time, especially if I know the patient well.
