None of my friends who fly PPL from Moorabbin, and those who
are training for GFPT/PPL, have ever mentioned such an area.
500 ft seems to be the limit.

Regarding motorglider outlanding training, I don't know if
it is legal, but it has been done for many years, and over
open farmland, with no buildings, seems pretty innocuous to
me.  I would much prefer to know for sure that I would have
got into my chosen paddock, and also had a closer look at
its surface than that available from 500 ft.
