Following this tread - it appears we are talking about 3 different
aircraft GSF - GSB (at Temora) - and the one at Forbes (unidentified).

Derek - which aircraft are you commenting on?

That partcular Hornet is covered with half an inch of combined red dust
and bird crap, has 2800 hours and 1700 plus landings and last flew 18
years ago. Never mind about taking the chute straight to the tip, I'd
take the glider straight to the tip, it would cost too much to get back
in the air (unless you could do it yourself & are a masochist)

There is STILL a Hornet / Mosquito sitting in the back of the hangar at
Forbes. It has been there for around 17 years now, if I remember the
dates
in the DI book. It was flown for a test flight way back then and never
flown again. It has been in the one spot so long that the tyre walls on

the trailer have started to harden and disintegrate.

Apparently the bloke bought it, but never flew it much. Several
attempts
over the years to buy it from him were unsuccessful. I think it was a
case
of too much money and not enough sense. Good luck if you can get hold
of
this one.
