Ian Thanks for notifying me of your father's significant birthday.
Please congratulate the Irish China man "Patching" on reaching this significant mile stone from Colleen and my self.
His work is not over because there a few G103's that are near 12000 hrs and I am sure the clubs will need his advise an how to proceed when they try to get an extension of hours.

Sunday 6 June Alan Patching AM turns 80 years young. Still happily tugging and glider flying he is currently putting the finishing touches onto a VP-1 airplane and working at the Australian Gliding Museum amongst many other things.
We are having a get together at his house on Sunday and if you wish I can pass on any messages to him.
An indication of his dedication to Australian Gliding is that the next weekend, Queens Birthday he will be joining me at Bacchus Marsh as we do a mini airworthiness course with people who are up grading their qualifications.
Yeah he's my dad and I'm pretty proud of him.
