Ian
I missed this by not reading my E-mail since Thursday night. Please pass on my belated congratulations and best wishes. You might remind your Dad he is one of around 5 octogenarians now in the list of delegates to issue towing permits (i.e. to train tug pilots). At 55 I am in the younger 40% of such delegates. There are no old bold pilots - he is one of the cautious ones! Long may he continue.

To everyone out there,
Sunday 6 June Alan Patching AM turns 80 years young. Still happily tugging and glider flying he is currently putting the finishing touches onto a VP-1 airplane and working at the Australian Gliding Museum amongst many other things.
We are having a get together at his house on Sunday and if you wish I can pass on any messages to him.
An indication of his dedication to Australian Gliding is that the next weekend, Queens Birthday he will be joining me at Bacchus Marsh as we do a mini airworthiness course with people who are up grading their qualifications.
Yeah he's my dad and I'm pretty proud of him.
Cheers all
Ian P
