Glider hull insurance is the business of the owners of the glider. Why do you want so much regulation so that your hull insurance may be voided by some minor breach of a regulation? That is what we are talking about here. People want a small easing of the regulation so that someone can do a Gold C height climb starting from low altitude without necessarily having oxygen. The emerging concensus is that this is quite reasonable although it is desirable to have oxygen. While we are talking about regulation causing problems how about getting rid of the UTTERLY STUPID two signatures on the DI after disconnection of controls. It not only puts the otehr signatory at so me legal risk but prevents someone from operating a motorglider even out of a hangar at a remote location because he has to disconnect a control to do periodic lubrication of a L'Otellier coupling.
