yes Leigh,  It would have been Richard who retired as Air Commodore R
Gething and was the GFA Secretary for quite a few years .  Richard also
established a speed record to Capetown. His wife  Mardi flew  Spits among
other aircraft as a pilot with the Air Transport Wing  during WW2.  You
mention an obit...perhaps I missed seeing it. I wonder what issue it was in.
There are others who are much more qualified to give more information on
Richard.  I stayed with Richard  and Mardi on several occasions on  their
farm at Kangaroo
Ground  Vic and remember seeing the old Dart there  Richard and Mardi
were(is in Mardi's case) quite special characters as indeed were many others
in GFA at the time. They have a son and daughter living in Melbourne
somewhere.. Col Churches could  fill in a lot of background  on them, and
