Some, yes. Others, maybe not. I've not tried very many. In the book template for the master documents I have a User Field that sets the value for conditional fields (hidden paragraphs, hidden sections) in the subdocs. The chapter template includes at least one conditional hidden-para field and one conditional hidden section. Testing some other fields (eg variables for product names) is on my to-do list.
