Thanks. I'll find ways to work around the x-ref issue. You get kind of spoiled 
working within a closed system like we have at work, where we cross reference 
like crazy.

Scott,
Look in the chapter on Master Documents. It should be covered in
there. If not, it should be in the chapter on Working with Fields.

We have not been using x-refs between chapters because they won't work
except within a Master Doc. Fine when generating the whole book, but
not so good for the standalone individual chapters.

Some day I will finish indexing the Writer Guide. That should help all
of us find these more obscure items.
