Hi,

Consider this a last ditch effort ;) Currently it seems to be that everyone
agrees that the name "Avalon" covers a whole bunch of code (from Logging to
Framework to Components to Application Server to Services). Currently one
part of it (Framework) occupies the org.apache.avalon.* namespace.

I propose that we change this to org.apache.framework.* - My reasoning is
simple. A naive user who wants to know what Avalon is will assume it is the
classes in org.apache.avalon.* (seems logical right?). The reason we are
using avalon namespace is for advertising. It would be better in my opinion
if we instead had advertising in docs/ and packageing. ie

AvalonFramework.jar or avalon-framework.jar
AvalonExcalibur.jar or avalon-excalibur.jar

Thoughts?

Cheers,

Pete
