+1 on testing in parallel to ant. I would be -1 on having Maven be the primary 
build tool until it has a stable release.

Pete is proposing the same as what jakarta-commons has. (Actually maybe even 
less intrusive, as I believe Maven is the standard build for some commons 
projects, versus being just a parallel testing build).
