Well, don't let me stand in your way. Go and piss him off above and beyond what he has been pissed off before. Then you can make up and love-bomb each other into oblivion or whatever. If you want to engage in such coaxing and cajolery then go right ahead.

But I won't - such behavior has no place in a professional relationship as far as I am concerned. Just because we're not arguing technical points we don't have to drop to methods more suitable for dealing with 1-5 year olds.

Peter has a problem. Get it resolved quickly and professionally or realize that making the suspension permanent is in the best interest of everyone involved.
