consistency is one advantage. You don't have to worry about how
browser X implements 3D vs browser Y's different implementation of the
supposedly same standard (hello Microsuck). Speaking of molehill, Rob
or any of the devs been told by Adobe a possible release date for FP
11? With the tremendous amount of work you guys have been doing to
make Flash 3D actually usable by normal humans I'd hope they keep you
very much in the loop about that.
