Let's reinvent the wheel because we don't like the current wheel. And let's do 
it in a way that only works when you are using it for moving into a north-east 
direction, because no one else would need any other directions, right?

Is there any reason why we need yet another way to do systray icons and why 
this way would have to use dbus and thus break network transparency?
