I think by modified notify_client.c you mean the AXIS2C-1154 attached file. As
I have mentioned in AXIS2C-1154 you are setting the MEP incorrectly. That
causes a control flow confusion and this happens. Now it is fixed in the trunk.
Please have a look and also change your MEP to the correct one.
