Well, I don't Know if you can read Portuguese, but i am sending you the 1900
Census made in Portugal. ( its too heavy to send to google groups)

There you can see that there were all the foreigners that existed in each
island of Açores. Or you can download it for yourself.

There you  can see even how many french reside on each island.

Yes. They existed, and lived on Azores.

 And there where usually a lot of english and french on the islands

The reasons why are as usual as the present days. Businesse affairs,
trading, commerce,  conection by marriage.

But that replay would need a very long and serious research involving a lot
of records search.....
