An interesting tidbit about Duarte's for you genealogists...

Last time I was at Duarte's (in August, 2009) there were several pictures on the wall--sort of behind the entry door to the restaurant (not the bar). One was a "panororama" style--very long, don't know the proper term. It was a picture of some of the menfolk of the town. They were labeled with names! I found my grandmother's first cousin's husband who also happens to be buried in the cemetery there. I had never seen a picture of him. There were many Azoreans in the area at that time.

If you are visiting Pescadero and the weather is dry, do visit St. Anthony's cemetery on Stage Rd north of town.
