Hi, The name Jaime is Portuguese. We have a friend of the family whose name is Jaime and he was born in the Acores. I asked my dad who was born in Pico and he is in his 80's and says it's an old name. I attached the google translator so if you hit the little speaker button in the box that says Jaime you can actually hear the way it is sounds said in Portuguese. The minho site also has people named Jaime (Pico, Faial, Sao Jorge - only islands that are on). The Lisbon page also had a Jaime. http://translate.google.com/#en|pt|jaime You can also wikipedia the name James and scroll down and see all the variations for the languages. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_(name) Hope this helps. Thanks ... Liz

Thats also how it sounded to me. And I have seen it spelled this way a few times. Come to think of it, I can't think of how you says "James" in Portuguese. Anyone?
