Check your census...it'll show if Naturalized or Alien.  If naturalized it'll,
most of time, give year.  That'll help give you a starting date for look up
records.

Happy Hunting!!

Hello Group.

The family that I am looking for

Nuno Maria da CAMARA -  born abt 1840
Maria Augusta -- born about 1845
Manuel - born abt 1869
Maria - born abt 1873
Maria - born abt 1878
Maria - born abt 1880

I found them on the SS Monarch -
>From Sao Miguel
date of Arrival - 2 Jul 1882

Is that common for children to have the same first name?

How do I find naturalization records if I don't have a year>
If you were in Hawaii - where would I look?
I have been searching the National Archives...but you need to know data range
and residence information.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.   Thank you.  Linda

Ancestry now has All Massachusetts, Petitions and Records of Naturalizations,
1906-1929 - listings show Declaration of Intention, Petition for
Naturalization, Oath of Allegiance and Certificate of Arrival.  So when you put
in the name and click on it it gives Name, date, court, witness...but if you
want to see the actual records, you have to go to FOLD3 (previously Footnote)
which when you click on it offers a 7 day free trial.
