Have you gotten in touch with Suzanne Carreiro from the group? I know that Suzanne has family history on Carreiro's. My mother's cousin was married to Evaristo Carreiro who was from Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel. I'm not sure if he originated from Ponta Delgada.
