Robin, My info on the Rosa line is limited. Jacintho was born abt 1852 in Pico. His father was Manuel, mother unknown. 1871 moved to California. 1877 in Half Moon Bay, 1880 in Eden Township, Alameda, children with Florence PIO in 1884, 1885, 1886 & 1890 in Mission San Jose. Moved to Hollister abt. 1899. Purchased a ranch in the Southside District, 30 Oct. 1907. d. 13 Sep 1917. That is all I have. What info do you have? I would be very interesting in talking with your relative.

I too have Rosa {Rose, Rosa, Roza or De La Rosa} from the Hollister and Tres Penos areas of San Benito County. I haven't come across any connection yet on the Pio name. From the research I have to far, my Da Rosa line comes from Pico. I do have a relative, by way or marriage, who's involved in local research of the San Benito County area. I'd be happy to direct you to where you can find her. She was a wealth of information with my Da Rosa family line. Aug 1866 in the Azores & d. Oct. 1929 in Watsonville, CA. I do not know where she was born & would appreciate any info. Her parents were Joseph b. abt. 1845 & Josephine b. abt. 1835. I have no further info on them & would appreciate any direction anyone can give to locate them. I do not believe they came to the USA. Florence married Jacintho Leal Rosa (or da Rosa or Rose) but I do not have the date of their marriage. They had 4 children born in Mission San Jose & the youngest was my grandmother Adeline. They were divorced sometime betwen 1891 & 1897, but I do no have a specific date. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. -- To unsubscribe from this group, send email to azores+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com. Follow the confirmation directions when they arrive.
