I have been having problems with my laptop the last couple of weeks. It was acting slow and giving me problems navigating in programs. Friday morning when I sat down with my large coffee and turned it on I could not open my programs. I ran virus checks and still nothing. I took it to Best Buy and the Geek squad checked it out and told me that the hard drive was going and I had a corrupted operating system . I considered getting it repaired for $250+ and decided to get a new one. I was not happy because I really did not want to go to Windows 8 and just the work in setting up a new computer is a pain.
Most of Friday I spent shopping and got a nice Lenovo laptop So at 7:00 pm last night I plugged in in and started to figure things out my first priority was to get my data from my back up loaded. I have been using a daily backup on an external hard drive and successfully loaded my files especially my genealogy files that I have invested countless days creating.
