Mike, here's the deal on where people were naturalized. Persons eligible for naturalization could be attend the ceremony in any Federal court, regardless of where they lived. Back in the day, Naturalization was a proud and joyful event. However, naturalization ceremonies were not held on a regular schedule in all courts, but, rather, when there were enough persons to fill the court for the ceremony. As a result, some of our ancestors may have been scheduled to be naturalized in courts some distance away from where they lived, for reasons of expediency. Sometimes, they were offered the option by the administrators, and would be scheduled at the court of their choice. Otherwise, they just had to notify the specific court to be scheduled.
