Ubirajara and Cheri FamilySearch.org has early from 1762 for Recife City, Pernambuco State and Salvador City, Bahia State starting in 1598. These records are a "Browse" type.
Steps to find these records" https://familysearch.org/search scroll to the lower section - click on Caribbean, Central and South America<https://familysearch.org/search/collection/list#page=1®ion=CENTRAL_SOUTH_AMERICA> click on Brazil - then select Pernambuco or Bahia or whatever state needed then click on "Browse through XXXXXX images" do not panic at the number of images Then pick the Municipality, then parish, then the record type you need to look at Not all records are available for all the time periods.
