Hi all, This is my first post here and I love following all your posts----I am Becky Mendonca, researching my husband John Mendonca's birth family tree. (He was adopted by a Mendonca family also from Azores- Sao Miguel island) but his maternal birth family is from Faial, His Birth gmother was Rose Marie Valle of Calif, dtr of Louisa Augusta Silva 1868-1951, and Joseph Ignacio Valle 1865-1934, both born in Castelo Branco, Faial. I am researching the names Valle, da Silva, da Rosa, Fialho-in the parishes of Castelo Branco and Capelo. I believe this marriage record is of Manuel Dutra da Rosa (D- 4 Jul 1774 in Capelo) my husbands 5x ggfather, and Catarina (1729-1769 of Capelo) my husbands 5x ggmother. Any help reading this would be much appreciated as it is in poor condition. The date of marriage seems to read 9 May 1757.
