The parents of the baby may be cousins and are waiting on the dispensation to marry, but went ahead and started a family. On the other hand, maybe they are cousins and became "weak of the flesh" (the words of the day) or were jonesing for each other (that's probably American slang). She batted her eyelashes, he became weak in the knees...don't know. If they are cousins you might get lucky and find a dispensation (not all exist). You'd have to hire João Ventura, the archivist, to look for it (if it exists). Begin looking for a marriage on 28 Feb 1780. All you know is that the parents were not married on the baptism date.
