I‘m working on a maternal lines that matches my dad’s maternal lines of Machado de Castro and Leonardo Goncalves that leads back to the mid 1600’s. The person I’m helping is a maternal cousin of my but through MtDNA she matches several cousin from the other side of my tree. I’m looking at their daughter Maria da Resurreicao who married Manuel Vieira. Their son Antonio Vieira married Margarida Antonia and they had a daughter named Maria do Carmo. It is this Maria do Carmo that has to tie into my dad’s maternal lines. I’m trying everything I can to get back a few more genreations. This is what I have Maria do Carmo Born 12/22/1788 in Ribeirinha and dies 12/31/1866 in Ribeirinha marries Joao Toste de Freitas in 11/29/1818 (I have the link to this record). Her marriage record says her parents are Antonio Vieira (born in Lajes) and Margarida Antonia (born in Port Judeu). They married 12/22/1782 in Ribeirinha (I have the link). It says Margarida Antonia’s parents are Mateus Cardoso of Ribeiras, Pico and Maria Antonia of Porto Judeu. I either need their marriage record or Maria Antonia birth record or death record (before 1767). The records of Porto Judeu do not go back far enough.

Groom is Manuel Martins son of Simão Martins and Maria Pacheco from Porto Judeo. Bride is Luzia Pereira do Rosario daughter of Andre Faleiro (deceased) and Barbara da Costa from Lajes. If I am reading correctly the groom parents are my ancestors also and their marriage is the easy to find because it is the first marriage recorded in Porto Judeu. Is this another common ancestor we have? Our ancestries are already fairly tangled in Ribeirinha.
