Because the ads are an intrinsic part of the site's content. That's what the owner of the content has decided comprises the full work, and therefore that's what you have been granted permission to use. Consumer choice in this case is not for you to block the site's adverts and deliver yourself a derivative work, but for you to either consume the content intact or not at all.
