backstage is getting a little subversive in this thread! this is
dangerous, all you talented media technology types suddenly becoming
evil :-) maybe you need a "hackstage" splinter guerilla group?
although seriously, mobile on the tube would boost mobile application
X% in London, so what does backstage think it should do with all that?
vibrating alerts when you reach a pre-set station would be useful for
those of us who like to snooze on the train... but i'm sure the list
can come up with something more "media" than that! how about another
competition Mr F?

ps and OT: this whole "w***r on the mobile" doesn't really apply in
hong kong cos ppl are generally very considerate with their mobiles,
often talking behind their hands and usually very quietly. the loud
irritating ones are the westeners (about 1/20-40 passengers) but i
quite enjoy hearing what depths people will go to to try and impress
their fellow passengers. i mean really, you've got to laugh at these
people, no? did dom joly's excellent work not sink in?? perhaps the
beeb needs to do a re-run. massive phone on the tube blocking the
doors.. "HELLO! YEAH I'M ON THE TUBE! YEAH, IT"S NOT MOVING, DUNNO
WHY."

Or thinging about it backwards - surreptitious painting of mobiles!

wireless signals. Maybe there could be a new form of grafitti, with people
painting the tube trains in order to stop people using their mobiles?
