Andy, I'm awfully confused. Flash plays on a Wii (albeit not the iPlayer video content, since the codec used isn't in that version), on mobile phones (from Nokia to Windoze phones but not the iPhone yet), I think it's also on the PSP as well. (Oh, and naturally it's available on the Mac and Linux).
