Hi all, I have an old 2.1.0 version running on a slackware linux distro.
I would like to run the latest version on a new Ubuntu 7.10 installation. First think I do is Apt-get install backuppc This result of installing backuppc 3.0.0-3. I try to get the system work like the old one work So I set different config file to backup one of my computer, I got auth error like this on the backuppc log file. Like that full backup started for directory projets Connected to 192.168.0.110:873, remote version 29 Negotiated protocol version 28 Got response: 14c6955c4448f7ea610ce6d9f1462967 in mime: FMaVXERI9+phDObZ8UYpZw Auth: got challenge: 4xPoW9Nctz4drgQ1RlvLxw, reply: FMaVXERI9+phDObZ8UYpZw Error connecting to module projets at 192.168.0.110:873: auth failed on module projets Got fatal error during xfer (auth failed on module projets) Backup aborted (auth failed on module projets) And on my windows pc here the rsyncd logfile 2008/01/22 11:12:28 [1568] auth failed on module projets from UNKNOWN (192.168.0.41): unauthorized user 2008/01/22 11:37:50 [3768] name lookup failed for 192.168.0.41: temporary failure in name resolution. 2008/01/22 11:37:50 [3768] connect from UNKNOWN (192.168.0.41) 2008/01/22 11:37:50 [3768] auth failed on module projets from UNKNOWN (192.168.0.41): unauthorized user The setting for the user and password is correct. What can cause this ? Is it possible to update from 3.0.0 to 3.1.0 on ubuntu ?
