I'd always go with as much RAM as possible.  Rsync transfers can use a 
lot to hold the file listing and any unused RAM becomes a disk buffer 
that will reduce waiting for disk seeks for directory access and pool 
file comparisons.  If you go over 4 gigs you'll want a 64-bit processor 
and OS (a good idea anyway these days).
