Hi Oliver, I'm pretty sure the account is configured to successfully share the files, using;
SmbShareName C$$ The following appears in the log file at the web ui when a backup in run; 2012-08-20 15:42:02 full backup started for share C$$ 2012-08-20 15:42:03 full backup 7 complete, 3 files, 282 bytes, 3 xferErrs (0 bad files, 0 bad shares, 3 other) This happens within seconds of the backup starting and the host summary shows it with status done. The actual files that are transferred are; $Recycle Bin autoexec.bat Boot Note that "Boot" and "$Recycle Bin" are directories. With regards to the Xfer Errors, no log is displayed on the web ui, only the standard log file is. In the directory for the windows machine the log file; -rw-r----- 1 backuppc backuppc 544 Aug 15 17:39 XferLOG.1.z -rw-r----- 1 backuppc backuppc 567 Aug 16 17:00 XferLOG.2.z -rw-r----- 1 backuppc backuppc 546 Aug 20 15:32 XferLOG.5.z -rw-r----- 1 backuppc backuppc 570 Aug 20 15:33 XferLOG.6.z -rw-r----- 1 backuppc backuppc 545 Aug 20 15:42 XferLOG.7.z -rw-r----- 1 backuppc backuppc 456 Aug 20 14:00 XferLOG.bad.z.old Unable to open those files and paste the contents here as they all open with a collection of symbols. How should I proceed from here? Thank you for your time. Kind Regards, gshergill --------------------------------------------- Hi, Backing up Windows 2008 R2 datacenter Works fine. Am actually backing out domain shares with it. Are you using an account that has the backup operator rights or Armin to connect to the shares? Also can you give us your logs (errors)? Also, sometimes samba fails due to files being too big. So either increase timeout or filter the files Regards Olivier +---------------------------------------------------------------------- |This was sent by [email protected] via Backup Central. |Forward SPAM to [email protected]. +---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
