This is interesting... root@backuppc:~# samba --version The program 'samba' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing: apt-get install samba4 Samba isn't installed? Windows 2003 server was backed up fine using smb. Also, my global section of smb.conf is near enough all commented out. Thanks.
