Ok, from the server, can you test what is the answer of:
* a DNS request (I suppose your machines use their regular DNS names when
resolving to NETBIOS)
$ nslookup mymachineicantreach
* a SMB listing request?
$ smbclient -Umyuser%mypassword -L //mymachinename
JY
