Correct. Bacula cares not about the name of the file, just when it expires and is ready for recycling. I've found that it is best to not try and manage the volumes myself and be cute or logical about it, rather let Bacula do what it does as it is logical enough and does the right thing. You should file an RFE or add your thoughts to perhaps an existing RFE to do backup migrations, where a backup happens to disk then you can select this backup to 'migrate' or copy to tape for offsite storage. -- Jesse Keating GameHouse -- Systems Engineer ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is Sponsored by the Better Software Conference & EXPO September 19-22, 2005 * San Francisco, CA * Development Lifecycle Practices Agile & Plan-Driven Development * Managing Projects & Teams * Testing & QA Security * Process Improvement & Measurement * http://www.sqe.com/bsce5sf _______________________________________________ Bacula-users mailing list Bacula-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/bacula-users
