Assuming: 1) That bacula is correctly configured to use a scratch pool 2) I have an autochanger with 10 slots 3) I have labeled media Bacula-0001 thru Bacula-0010 and assigned them to the scratch pool 4) A job is running that needs a new volume from the Full pool
If bacula can not find an appendable volume by other means (recycle, etc...) bacula will, a) move a volume from the scratch pool to the Full pool b) the volume will not be renamed c) the volume will be updated with the attributes of the Full pool and assuming that the Full pool is configured with: RecyclePool = Scratch when a volume is recycled it will be moved back to the scratch pool in the same manner as above. Is this a correct understanding of how the scratch pool works? -- Robert W Hartzell bear at rwhartzell.net RwHartzell.Net ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Planet: dedicated and managed hosting, cloud storage, colocation Stay online with enterprise data centers and the best network in the business Choose flexible plans and management services without long-term contracts Personal 24x7 support from experience hosting pros just a phone call away. http://p.sf.net/sfu/theplanet-com _______________________________________________ Bacula-users mailing list Bacula-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/bacula-users
