I don't disagree with that assessment at all.  My latest seeker, a Jehovah's 
Witness saw that immediately.  She did not however retreat in revulsion. 
She understands the need; 

Dear Richard, 

One of the curriculum designers at the Mag Carney Institute was a Jehovah 
Witness, and like your friend sees the need for something like this. He too, 
takes a scholarly approach himself having a Master's degree in biblical 
studies. It caused me revulsion because when I visited a Kingdom Hall meeting 
as a teenager and saw that technique being used, I immediately thought to 
myself, "They don't want people to think."
